The name of the band replacing Destroyer 666 should be known very soon. We’ve been working hard to find a decent band that’s available the day of the festival. We’ll wait to have a contract signed (before making an announcement ) to avoid any disappointment! More news very soon! |

DESTROYER 666: CANCELED
|
DESTROYER 666 have been forced to cancel their appearance at the Metal Mean. To make a long story short here below you have the band’s statement. We just hope we shall make it real next year: « Unfortunately we have to cancel the show as we have now accepted the following tour. Sadly the 2 overlap, and after much negotiation we have decided on the full US tour. Sorry for any inconvenience...and we would gladly play next year if that vacancy arose Good luck K for D666»

The wait is over! The last name for this 6th edition is revealed, at last. We’ve been searching for a band matching our booking policy : “underground” yet “cult”. Destroyer 666 was the logical choice. Despite this australian band relocated to western Europe a few years ago, they haven’t been playing in Belgium for ages! Last year’s show being cancelled by the promoter, it was about time to book this legendary band. Those into furious blackened thrash metal can’t miss a show of Destroyer 666!!! |
MACABRE
|
The masters of Murder Metal are back ! The sick three-piece from Chicago (Illinois) have confirmed they will perform in Mean coinciding with the celebration of their 25 years of existence ! Most visitors of the festival are familiar with the sickness of this cult band whose lyrics exclusively deal with serial killers. 2010 should also see the release of their long-awaited new release entitled « Grim Scary Tales ». Their first full length since 2003 ! |

ONHEIL

If you believe Holland is only about cheesy gothic metal bands, you’d better think twice! Our neighbours are now used to providing us with quality death black metal for a few years. After Izegrim, The Monolith Deathcult and Carach Angren, we’re pleased to welcome Onheil. Their new release “Razor” is gathering an unbelievable amount of rave reviews since its release making the band the next big thing emerging from The Netherlands. Prepare yourselves for an onslaught of furious technical yet melodic blackened metal! |
METAL MEAN COMPETITIONThe bands qualified for the final leg of the competition are known. The nine members of the independent jury had a tough job due to the amazing amount of excellent bands (seventy nine) that were willing to take part to the finals on August 21st, 10:30 A.M. on the festival ground! The winners are : SATYRUS, PESTIFER, DAMARUS et MEHTNAKRISS |

HIGH VOLTAGE PLAYS AC/DC
This year, the organisation has decided to change the cover night style, offering something
“harder” to the visitors of the festival itself.
Due to the incredible succes of AC/DC last sold-out tour, it was a good opportunity to book
HIGH VOLTAGE, a band formed in 1992. They’ve played the biggest festivals of the
country and opened for Mercyful Fate and Status Quo among many others.
The band has promised to offer an impressive stage show. You’ve been warned!

MAYHEMMAYHEM don't really require much of an introduction. They started the (in)famous Norwegian Black Metal movement. Twenty-five years later, those musicians still stay the genre’s biggest and most evil band of all time. Their albums are years after years still |
ORPHANED LANDWho hasn't heard of ORPHANED LAND’s come-back? Originality is more than welcome these days while so many bands just follow the same usual musical path. |

ROTTING CHRISTSeldom has the presence of a band on the Méan bill made as much sense as in the case of Greece’s ROTTING CHRIST. These Athenians have produced tons of metal classics in the course of their eventful career which started back in 1987. Originally started as a grindcore band, they slowly evolved to gothic metal and eventually returned since the release of “Theogonia” to their black metal roots. Mandatory for everybody into intelligent black metal ! |
BLACK BLEEDINGUndisputed winners of last year’s competition, this infamous three-piece (they won with only two members that day!) will open the festival itself the best way you could imagine. With their fast and brutal mix of old-school death and black metal, Black Bleeding will, once again, offer loads of fun and silly behaviour. |
